My primary focus with Kwazy Cattery is to develop a line that improves on the color and clarity of the seal point Siamese. I was fortunate enough to have access early in my CFA career to cats from lines with very good bodies and coats – good enough that I did not believe that I could substantially improve on them. What I DID want to focus on was developing a seal point coat that was clear (meaning white to light beige) throughout the body without hip spots or shading….and which would maintain this clarity well into adulthood. I also want to concentrate on keeping a short, close-lying, tight coat….what many Siamese breeders refer to as a ‘painted on’ coat (i.e. – the body appears so sleek that it almost seems as though it does not have fur). Ideally, I would wish for a coat that does not fluff or feather anywhere – not even on the belly or elbows. |
